Re: One for the Nerds
You should be able to mount the camera to your scope's finder bracket. Then send the mount to the north pole position so that the camera is looking at the pole. Then you can start your procedure.

I think it is another issue where serial frequently gets blamed for aUSB problem!
DB-9's are SIGNIFICANTLY more reliable than USBconnectors.

Chris,
I recently replaced a perfectly good Contour RollerMouse with a new one only to discover that the USB cable was the actual culprit. I had tried unplugging and replugging multiple times, but

One big problem with USB connectors is that they get oxidized and/orcontaminated easily, causing all kinds of weird, intermittent, unpredictable problems.

Machining an adapter for various AP mounts would be a prettystraightforward project.

This was a timely little thread, so glad I scanned thru it the other day.
Tonight I went out to mess around a little and get things up and running as I mentally prepare to upgrade the imaging

One for the Nerds
As many of you know, QHY has a new device out called PolarMaster. Basically a camera that attaches to the front polar scope hole on many mounts, determines the center of rotation of the mount and then

Best to call either George or Howard while you are at the mount. They will advise you step by step.

Re: Near Miss Polar Aligning in the Daytime
Roland, sorry but I wasn't able to get to the observatory until today.
My rig:
Parallax Mount HD150C
GTO CP3
Keypad Ver 4.17
As I stated in my first post. I followed the daytime polar alignment
