Homing switch feature on 1100 mounts
I saw mention on the AP website of the homing switch feature for 1100 mounts as something coming soon. Is there an eta on when it might be available with new 1100's?
Thanks
Richard

My 1100 moves fine with the clutches tight. I actually like the resistance I get. Feels good

Rob,
If you are using a USB/serial converter, does the camera happen to share the
USB port via an USB hub? Also, USB ports sometimes share traffic in pairs of
ports. If the camera and serial/USB use

Woody,
I concur – use the same bubble & park method –though I should start using Park-4 instead of Park-1, where the axes are groundparallel in either case. Park-4 guarantees there won’t

Rob,
If there are any briefly “flashed error messagescreens”, which might be missed, you might want to try recording the PCscreen just before you disconnect the camera. Jingo is a program

As I said I need to research this. Given that the error always occurs exactly at the time of the camera disconnect I still suspect software.
I inserted Pipe Monitor between ACP and the V2 and turned

Re: New behavior in ASCOM Driver 5.09.01
Connecting the guiding directly to the V2 driver is a judgement call. I don’t see the ACP Hub adding value and it reduces the overhead by a small amount.
ACP does its own PinPoint and sets the FITS

Re: Star Sync After RAPAS
Bill,
Why doyou leave the clutches tight? There's no reason. It's much easier tomove the mount with the clutches loose. At least with a Mach1, themount doesn't know the difference. No encoders

Does that require the guiding cable unlike ASCOM Direct which Bob Denny had recommended years ago?

Re: Star Sync After RAPAS
Thanks, these are good methods as well. I will try them out next time I have some clear skies. Manually pointing the mount to a star is incredibly easy to do. In fact, I can normally get to it faster

Re: Star Sync After RAPAS
Hi,
you can do it simpler. Start from the last park position. Let the scope slew to a known star. Center with the direction buttons. Do a RESYNC and you are in the business.

Re: Star Sync After RAPAS
That's one way to do it.
I find it easier to polar align with RAPAS, park my A-P mount to either Park 1 or 4 (preferred) positions, power up the mount, resume from Park 1/4 with Keypad or ASCOM
