For your mount I recommend that you balance as close as you can by using the "disengage gears" feature. This mount has a new spring loaded gearbox, so the worm gears will always be in mesh. Yes, it

Cherry Springs Star Party Anyone?
Is anyone else from the Astro-Physics Users groups going to Cherry Springs this weekend? I thought I was packing too heavy so I'm bringing just the Mach 1 with the CP4 & Eagle Pier, not the 1100.

I'm a relative newbie with a Mach 1. I've started imaging and have had the mount do a meridian flip on me when going to a new target. I've had some close calls with the camera, guider and laptop all

I'm not at my PC, I'm away and can't access Help or I would.
Perhaps you could make it more convenient for me by just answering my query?

There are several methods you can select for motion during the backlash
snapshot. Which did you try? The explanation of each is in the help file.

Re: PC to run AP900
Robert,
I’m not sure where the misunderstanding occurred. I had said that in order to use the ASCOM Platform system on which most astronomy programs are based, one needs to use a PC.

I use my AP900 on Max OS X with TheSkyX Pro and it works perfectly.
So not sure why they would say that ?

Timing to Reach Horizon Limit from Below?
In APCC Pro, Is it possible to see when a target will appear from behind a horizon limit in order to program when to start a sequence? Or even start tracking before a target is visible and see when

Re: Balance issue GTO1100 CP4
Thomas,
Since we just discussed this at some length about a year ago, I have answered you off-group.
And I assume the group would agree that (1) AP mounts are very forgiving of imbalance so precise
