Hi Michael!
Haha! Nope, it's the same with the Mach 1. I have three old weights and one new one. Of course the new one is the 6-pounder that will get moved around the most. Hmmm...I'd say also throw

Bob,
My Mach1 is a couple of years older than yours and has the CP3 controller. But I think it’s rather quiet while slewing – even at 1200x. My iOptron and Celestron Alt/Az mounts are much

Interesting. I just realized that the 1100mount has the same steps from 64X to 600X. However, I think you are exaggeratingon the noise level. There is no way that the 1200X slew rate makes as

Good point about external vibrations. I live in southeast Texas where we are basically sitting on top of the water table. There is a railroad a couple miles from my house, and if you are

Re: 1100GTO not holding polar alignment
Hi Joe
Thanks for the tip about using toothed lock washers. I noticed this issue a couple weeks ago when I was re-establishing the balance points for my 1100 mount with a new SBIG STXL 16200 camera

Mike, and Joe R.
You might be interested in having an ultra-precisebubble level resting on your mount fork base, to see if there is any rocking ofyour mount during “daytime slew tests”.

Make sure you splay out those losmandy tripod legs. I’ve been using the HD (non movable legs) for years and there was always some wiggle/flex in the legs even when tightened down (I use lever knobs

Hi Mike,
I use a massive Losmandy HD tripod, with its 1/4” thickpipe walls, as a permanent pier, so am not that familiar with the boltsprovided for the AP mount base ring, or any problems

Thanks Im forecasted to have a clear night here tonight and tomorrow. With a near full moon it's a perfect time to take the gear out for tests. I checked the Losmandy HD tripod indoors securing all

Howdy boys and girls!
Last week I acquired a late 2015 Mach 1/CP4 that is in immaculate condition. I know the gentleman that I bought it from used it. I just can't prove it. There's nothing wrong

You can use the clutches on the older style. Just loosen the knobs 4 to 6 turns until they are very loose. You can then get a good feel for the balance. In fact, with the 1100 mount and the older

Man, I really hope these new boxes get issued as a retrofit. I've never used the new boxes but it sounds like they would be a godsend to us mobile users.

Nothing to it and a great feature. I use them all the time in place of clutches. I RARELY loosen or tighten the clutches.

I've just been trying out PEMPro on my new Mach1 and I must say that I'm impressed … both by PEMPro and the mount!
There are two images of curves in the folder "Mach1 PEC test" on this Yahoo group -
