Roland,
Can you help us all understand the absolute value in the encoder kit? I would be semi interested in that. :)

Re: First light with Mach1 - a query
Thanks Rolando. I'm not sure that was the issue. My PA was only 0.5 degree out at most, and in any case I didn't do any slew in that sequence until the PA was spot on.
I guess I must've done something

Folks, this is a deal for a precision US made mount that's designed, machined, assembled by our dedicated team of really talented (and great) people. Don't pass this up!

Re: PHD "freezes" trying to settle after dither : PHD Dev believes issue may be in AP ASCOM
I don't recall having dithering issues with PHD2 and SGP. When I first started using dithering with PHD2 and SGP, I started with pretty small settling size (in pixels) and it never stopped dithering

The only known way to get the problem to occur is with PHD2's dithering routine so if you want to keep looking into the problem that’s where I think is the best place to start. Note that users

I just "liked" it on Instagram! No idea it was also an APOD! Congrats Anthony!

Re: Another APCC question
That is not really strictly true. Equatorial mounts don't care about their location since they care only if they are properly aligned on the pole and that their local time is known exactly. Only

Re: First light with Mach1 - a query
When you first set the mount up in Park3, it was not polar aligned and was probably off by some degrees. Going to your first object would have been in error - which in this case was 6 degrees off.

I will look at both of those things. I was distracted last night and didn’t get a chance to look play with it and will try again tonight.
Thanks,

So just as a followup, had an unexpectedly clear night last night, and resetting guiding to Asynchronous did indeed work around the issue, as all had expected. So, good news at least, I can still

Hi Dale,
Thanks for the great feedback! There is a reason why Lat/Long have been restricted to being set at initialization. If they are
changed after initialization the mount may require a sync

Re: Fist session with Mach1
Hi All
Okay, I am going to start by saying – IT WORKS!
But, I am not sure about my work-around.
I updated the BIOS. No change.
I updated some firmware. No change.
I found and updated a Chipset

Re: Another APCC question
Just a quick update - powered up the mount tonight with ethernet connected and there was no altitude error. I'm hoping it was just a transient glitch. Thanks again for your advice.

Got my new Mach1 on Monday, and been playing around this week with it indoors. Just got out tonight under the stars - briefly before the clouds came in!
I've put a screenshot of my first guiding
