Guide with medium to low aggression. Set guide exposure between 2 - 3 seconds. Guide once every 10 seconds, or perhaps every 15 seconds, depending on how accurately your model is working.

Best guiding practices with the Mach2 and PHD2?

My Mach2 is now working well thanks to the people at AP :-).
Yesterday I built my first modeling, surprisingly easy. And I know that the main goal of an encoder mount is to eliminate guiding, but I

Re: Help finding source of PE fundamentals using PemPro
Tom, I would be delirious to achieve the PE you're reporting. I don't understand why you're worried about the fundamental 64.

I reached out to Howard. He told me the 64x fundamental is part of the planetary gear train of the motors. Only recourse is to try another motor, but it is anyone's guess if it will be better.

Re: Takes hours for me to polar align with PemPro...Suggestions for my AP600e?
Tom,
Just to be clear, the subframes and binning feature has been in PEMPro for over three months( June 7th 2020, v3.00.29).

Smoke won't do a thing when you are calibrating. It won't affect it.

Yes, absolutely for sure. It would add periodic error from RA tracking to the drift, and would explain the up-down trajectory.

Well there is no need for a field flattener. The full frame of the FSQ106 is flat enough. It's when you add an OAG.
However, I am beginning to think maybe something else happened here. I have been

Normally tilt does not produce coma. It simply shifts focus.
What is a CTU? Whatever it is, I don't think I want to end up there ;^))

Re: Takes hours for me to polar align with PemPro...Suggestions for my AP600e?
The camera has pretty severe tilt challenges. I have one as well and getting the field flat is a chore with a CTU.

They should not look comatic unless you are not using a field flattener.

PEMPro allows subframes and binning in Polar Alignment Wizard.
Make sure you are using the latest build, currently v3.00.33.

Re: Takes hours for me to polar align with PemPro...Suggestions for my AP600e?
Whether you have PE on or not, there won't be much difference if you guide. I would not fret over a few arc seconds. There are actually people imaging with mounts that have 40+ arc second PE and don't

I should really read the title and the body of the message ... :) For whatever reason, my brain froze and I was thinking Rolando was following up on my PEC measurement query.

Hi Rolando,
I'll keep and eyeball on that. There's not much to do on a Moonless, hazy night but to do PEC measurements. Another reason, I'm looking forward to my Mach2 so that I don't need to do
