Re: Using Ethernet for Mach2 Guiding
I just use a USB cable. No need for Ethernet unless you are 1/2 mile away from your mount.

Another option is the USB port on the CP5 box.
I started out using the RS-232 with the same USB to serial converter that I had always been using but then I just eliminated the converter and am now

Ah, OK. I'll make these changes soon, but of course I may have to wait for the weather to clear. Might have a couple of clear spots tonight before I take in the OTA - storm 'Delta' is heading our way

GTOCP4/5 Ethernet Cable for Upgrades
The literature mentions using a CAT 6 ethernet cable for installing upgrades to the CP4/5 control boxs. Does it need to be CAT 6? I already have CAT 5 and would need to purchase CAT 6.

Extended temperature readhead is rated at -40C to +80C
We have standard readheads in a number of mounts that have worked for years in temperatures well

So, are you saying if you do nothing else but slew twice to Jupiter using Stellarium, the first slew results in a counterweight-up position, and the second slew causes a pier flip?

My telescope is remotely controlled from my house to the outside property via a 100ft LAN cable. So I use Stellarium/Stellarium Scope for my pointing/slewing. The safe zone was created using APCC.
