APPM changing gain on ZWO ASI2600MM Pro
#APCC
#Mach2GTO
I've been using a ZWO ASI2600MM for some time with no issues except that I was noticing that the gain would mysteriously change from 100 to 0. It was very frustrating, because I would often find that

Well, it was a short session. First I lost the camera USB connection, then the other USB cables stopped working. Tried two new cables but they worked for only 10 minutes. Only one cable is still

Re: Mach1 RA guiding spike
If it's working, don't mess with it. Re-greasing is not needed unless you run it every night for the next 5 years.

Re: Mach1 RA guiding spike
I swapped the scope/CCD with another system, both systems worked fine. So it is not clear to me what the problem was, whether it was mount or mount+scope/ccd, or something else.
Brian,
Did you see

Re: ASCOM 6.6 is out. Anybody tried it yet?
I guess I’ll wait for Ray to chime in before installing 6.6. This reminds me of 6.5 when Ray recommended that we wait for 6.5sp1.

The flattener works fine, but the camera has hiccups and tilt. It's too cold to try adjusting it tonight.

Re: #ASI_AIR_PLUS What should my expectations be with AP?
#asi_air_plus
Wes,
I will be interested in your asi air + findings but I know you have to wait a bit longer.
I still think you’ll want a HC but that’s my opinion, just comes in handy for the quick nights

Yes, everything looks fine. Like I said, I don't know if copying the file over is the right thing to do, but everything looks ok and everything is working.

Can you get into APCC? How does it affect the performance? My installation was purely accidental. Time to roll back.

I installed ASCOM 6.6 and everything seemed to work fine with it. However, I had to reboot the computer today, and when I start APCC, I get this error:
Note that I also have APCC 1.9.3.3

Re: #ASI_AIR_PLUS What should my expectations be with AP?

I have the HC (actually one for each mount - 1200,1100,Mach2)
With the Mach2 which I use mostly for imaging with a computer and APCC (and TheSky) I have no need for the HC and have not used it much.
