This is just my opinion based on my experience. If a laptop is really the form factor you want to use, possibly for image acquisition and image processing, I suggest going with Lenovo. Here is one

Embarrassed? Don’t be silly Roland. They’re beautifully rendered considering the amount of data you collected for each, especially NGC2903 imho.

At Ray's suggestion I plugged the mount into a USB socket on one side of the laptop and the camera into the opposite side (USB ports separated). That seemed to have fixed the issue. Normally I plug

Leo Galaxy Tour
Hello Astronuts,
While visiting Hawaii in the spring of last year I had a few clear nights and did a galaxy tour in Leo. Here are some of the images. All were short exposures, snapshots if you will,

I finally got to test my system outdoors last Friday night to see if I could duplicate the original problems that I experienced on November 8 when the mount status and position stopped communicating

Re: On AP Telescopes
Biggest standard refractor was a 10" Triplet.
Biggest refracting system we made was the 12" Honders which used 2 refracting lenses of 12" aperture along with a folding mirror and a 3rd element of 4"

Re: Upgrade to APCC Pro 1.9.0.11
Hi Patrick,
Because there is an update to the Eltima drivers, you should uninstall 1.8.8.17 first, then install 1.9.x. You will not lose any settings.

Upgrade to APCC Pro 1.9.0.11
I am ready to upgrade APCC Pro to version 1.9.0.11. I am currently running version 1.8.8.17. Is it OK to install version 1.9.0.11 over the existing installation, or should I uninstall the old version

I seem to recall seeing a post on the forum where Roland said that it was really hard to get suitable glass for the larger lens sizes. Is that still the case Roland ? I remember that Astro-Physics

It was mostly an idle thought, but I wish I’d been paying more attention when you were producing the 175 f/8 StarFire EDF back in 2012.

Thanks, Mike. I love “origin stories“ like this. I only wish AP still made something in the 175 to 180 mm range. Interesting that Roland’s choice for his Hawaii dark sky site is apparently a 175

Re: On AP Telescopes
Hi Howard
Yes, I really count myself lucky to have a 180EDT. It is a great scope.
Before I bought the 180EDT I had been debating between a Celestron C14 and a 7-inch F9 Starfire. About the same time
