One thing I discovered last night while testing a new setup was that I got inconsistent pointing after modeling. I traced it down to a focuser drawtube that was not snugged down and locked into place.

Tom - Look up the ConeSharp program, from the SharpCap folks. Very easy to use, no need to use a specific star. Adjusters make life easier than shimming. Steve
