Hi MJB87,
Thanks for the info, I was wondering one could get the job done without a planetarium program.

Re: Will the Mach 2 support .....
I agree the color saturation isn't as deep as images I made with an ST-8XM and Astrodon filters, and I'm disappointed in that. It seems difficult to get deep reds instead of them having an orange

Very nice image, BUT I'm still not convinced that a color camera has a future for me in astro-imaging. I did a 10 minute RGB with a CCD and compared it to a 30 minute CMOS color image. I prefer the

Re: Will the Mach 2 support .....
Thanks, I didn't recognize itat first.
I too have had good success with combining full-color and Ha subs on a one-shot color camera, in my case, an ASI-1600MC Pro. Here's my IC443 with 4 hours

I've been imaging with the Mach1, AP900 and AP1200 unguided since APCC Pro came out. 6 minutes max unguided has been typical for the Mach1 with the 130GT, but I have gone 8 minutes before with my

Re: Problems using ASI air pro and AP mounts
My understanding is that the MinMo parameter is hard coded to be 0.25 pixels on the AAP. If you are using a guide scope instead of an off-axis guider, you might have an +/- 1 arcsec (or more) of

Thanks for posting John. Very nice image. Even taken in a fairly light polluted environment it came out well. Images like this make the decision to move away from a OSC camera more difficult. Glad

Re: VIDEO - Mach2 Right Ascension Belt Adjustment
You are correct Mike. They are the older design CW's.

The following is my post to our clubs Facebook page. (Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas) An example of fairly fast image acquisition with a OSC CMOS camera. I'm trying to get efficient with my time

Re: Problems using ASI air pro and AP mounts
Thanks Roland,
I made that errant "assumption" because I observed the AAP guiding program was sending corrections double the necessary "pulse" to the mount - and I had already backed off the pulse

Re: Back Focus Troubles
#Absolute_Encoders
Hi Linwood.
I was also concerned about the 2.75" vs. 2.67" back focus and which one I should use. I called Tele Vue and talked with David and asked him which number I should use for a KAF-16200 sensor

Mount Maintenance for gear wear
I have an AP1100 in a permanent observatory on top of my garage parked in position 4. During the past 3 years, I've only imaged about 120 hrs per year. I read in the manual to use the keypad to move
