Thanks for the info. My concern is what would happen outside the modeled area. As someone who has done models myself in a different area, I just want to make sure there are not extrapolation errors

There have been posts in the post showing that building a model along the declinaton of the single object works well. See lengthy thread at https://ap-gto.groups.io/g/main/topic/77675005

I got my mach1 about 8 weeks ago and the dec was sticking and sounded like metal rubbing against metal so I stripped it down and there wasnt any signs of grease left
I have used lubriplate 105 on

Call Astro-Physics and ask for the grease kit. It comes with two types of grease. One for the gear box and one for the worm and worm wheel. It also comes with instructions. The grease is great,

PS the other issue is ASTAP is vastly superior to platesolve2. I no longer have the later configured.
I would recommend supporting NINA and ASTAP instead since both are free. Unlike SGP. (buy

Re: Problem with first startup of Mach2 -- obstruction / grinding sound
Hi Marty,
The first thing I ran into that flipped me out a bit is what happens when the clutches are loose. I could not reliably hand tighten enough and need to use an allen wrench to snug them up

Re: Small mount was Recent encoder discussion on CN
I checked out the Rainbow Astro 135. Its pretty sweet, considering the load capacity and the weight of the mount. Its definitely portable and affordable.

Re: Problem with first startup of Mach2 -- obstruction / grinding sound
Tried to send you my email address. Maybe this third try will go through.
Speed doesn't affect it. I'm hearing the grinding noise at all speeds: 64x to 1200x.
Running v1.8.8.17 of APCC Pro.
