Re: Problem with PEMPRO polar alignment
I have MaximDL that I always use for imaging. So, all I would need then is Astro tortilla? Nuttin' else?
Margarita maybe to go with it?

Hi Jim, thanks for taking a look.
1. 180 s at gain 100 offset 50.
2. I haven't done that. I only get out 3 or 4 times a month for imaging so I haven't had time to do anything like that.

Re: A bunch of APCC woes...
Configure your virtual ports starting at a higher com port like 20, 21, etc. That way you won’t have a com port conflict with the mouse, etc.

Olympus Mons with the Mak 10
My first ever digital imaging using the Mak Mars attacker. Shocked to see I actually picked up the largest known volcano in the solar system from my backyard.

And it'll be great if APCC/APPM eventually supports ASTAP. ASTAP is just a wickedly fast plate solver (and free).

Dean, impressive image. Well done, especially the vivid colors. A couple of questions for you.
1. How long were your individual sub exposures? I'm gradually increasing unguided exposure times on

Yes, you are right. As far as I know that's the principal difference.

Is there a simple stand-alone plate solve program that can be used by a casual imager who just wants to center an object (without all the other goodies that CCD Commander has)?

Interesting! I didn't know PEMPro could select a star. I've always used TSX to identify suitable mag 6-8 stars near the meridian and equator, then I do a go-to and plate-solve in CCD Commander.
