What conditions/actions will cause the Absolute Encoders to go into the "Set" condition?
I have a GTO1600AE/CP4 and when I ran the APAE utility it showed the status of the encoders as "Set". I

It will be cleaner to power direct from 12V battery, when imaging where AC is not available.

Hi Steve, I have been running my Mach2 on 12 v since I got it. Actually, I have the power supply set to 13.5 v but a couple of times I forgot to turn the PS on and ran all night on the backup

I do not think this is an issue with Ernie’s Windows system. Since the problem is manifesting on multiple systems (mobile device, Windows 10, and a Mac) it is more likely an issue with

My solution is to simply cycle power on the CP4. No need to park the mount first, since the CP2/3/4/5's all have an

Ah yes, thanks, i was wrong to say on a "true EW line" .. its as you say, a true NS line .. i can nudge the star back there with E and W buttons , where it arrives depends on irrelevant (to pem)

It may be counter-intuitive, but you want to keep the star on the N-S line. You can allow it to drift up and down on that line.

Hi Roland, thanks for so quick response! I suggested trying "the old chip" ...by which I meant reinstalling my old GTOCP2 rather than modifying the GTOCP4 (which I would not dream of doing :-) . But

There is no "old chip" in a CP4. There is only the microprocessor and no chips are upgraded in the CP4. Perhaps you are referring to a CP3?
