It would be unusual for an automated focuser to move the primary mirror; hence the primary is typically locked down without issue.
What scope and focuser do you have?

I have not had good luck with SCTs because of mirror shift. The 10" SCT that I've used, I cannot even focus it without the image going clear off the chip. It also has some latency when focusing

All objects will move across the sky in an arc from east to west along a constant Declination value. It's not a feature of a mount, rather it's a feature of the way objects move across the sky. The

20 seconds isn't really long enough to capture drift unless the seeing is perfect. It takes at least 3 minutes to get a good handle of the drift at any one spot in the sky.
