I had a successful trial using APPM for the first time (just purchased software). I did a simple model first of 25 points; I did a small model first to understand how it works. Note, prior to this

I just have one question. I have been trying to get autoguiding to work and narrowed it down to the autoguider port in my CP4 using the test on the support page. I don't see any movement when

Hey Mike,
The pointing accuracy probably isn't a real big deal, as you say, but improved tracking MIGHT be an advantage. IF it would improve the tracking so it doesn't "creep" over time and it could

So far I've not seen any compelling evidence that "I need it either" Mojo.
Thanks for your comments.

Call A-P and order the grease kit. It comes with two different greases, a brush, and complete instructions.

It would be interesting to know how oftenChris Erickson regreases the A-P mounts at the Mauna Kea Visitor Center. We visited there last year and all of the mounts had a pretty good coatingof red lava

Hi Steve
Good to know that the fit on your mountand pier is good. I have to think about getting one of the flat plate adaptersfor my pier. I am still using the original 8-inch pier that I bought

Hi George,
Wow, I didn't realize that it is an annual to biennial affair! If you can post a link to instructions, I should start working on it.

Cytan,
Roland may have a better recommendation, but the environment also plays a big part…hot and dusty is bad. Every year or two in normal conditions would be a healthy approach. Death

Re: What are the advantages of the APCC Pro
Hey Michael,
I did use the internal tooth lock washers on my pier extension, just in case. The steel plate is nice and flat with no wobble in the flat plate adapter or telescope base sitting on it.
