Re: AP1100 CP4 pier crash
You know I might be seeing the yellow light on the ethernet port. The cam angle is such where I do get a face on view of the control box.
Is the yellow light on the ethernet port the normal on light

Thanks Ray, I'll take a look later this evening.
I will say I did forget to check that there was power to the mount when I first started up today. The runaway at the end of my last session had caused

Re: AP 1200 won't unpark via APCC
Dan,
Here is a link to the youtube video demonstrating park and unpark.
To provide a baseline try to perform the operations I do in the video *exactly* the way I have done them.

Re: Mach1 (spring loaded vers) has gear slop?
I tried again and I think I got it. Slop seems removed again. I'll check night clear night.

Re: Mach1 Unable to Find Home Position Suddenly
There is not a clock chip per se, so upon startup the mount must receive an accurate clock time. Once it receives that it starts an internal timer that keeps time until power is removed.

Re: AP1100 CP4 pier crash
If that's the case, your mount is working properly. Do you still have an amber light when it is tracking?

Re: Mach1 Unable to Find Home Position Suddenly
Mounts require an accurate time base to position the RA axis from a parked position. I assume your PC time is accurate, in that case it should always be used in the initialization process.

Re: AP 1200 won't unpark via APCC
Dan,
Was the mount turned on before you tried connecting? I ask because there were a number of failed requests to get mount information in APCC's log, near the start of the log.
If you can't

Re: Mach1 Unable to Find Home Position Suddenly
Ray, and all ... is there a clock chip in the CP that might be battery driven? Mikko's error made me think of that sort of failure.

Thanks for the attachment heads up to both Mike & Ray.
And, Ray, sorry for the log mix-up.
Since the one-day APCC log only reduced the size to about about half of my previous attachment I put a copy

Re: AP1100 CP4 pier crash
I can slew and it hits its target. I can park as well.
I did not have much time last night but I was able to initialized, track, slew and park like normal.

I thought I'll give an update to this now after a few weeks. I've learnt that if I click both the unpark the mount (even thought the SGP unparks the mount automatically) AND resync the mount time from

Hi All,
I'm the guy with the pier crash at my remote observatory that started this topic. Thanks for all the replies.
I am able to initialize and it seems to be tracking fine so far.

Hi Dan,
Yes, it did come through but a few things:
1. You did not follow my instructions! You used the ASCOM log zipper instead of the APCC log zipper so there are no APCC logs. :-(
