Re: First Light with CMOS camera - M8
Nice job and wonderful detail!
If you have an ASI294 and are using the flat ribbon-style USB cable that ZWO cameras tend to ship with, ditch it and replace it with a proper USB cable. I don't know

First Light with CMOS camera - M8
These CMOS cameras are pretty sensitive. This image has only 14-3 minute subs! I took some 5 minute subs but the 3 minute were better. I am trying to figure out some intermittent connection issues

ASCOM driver questions
I have an AP1200 GTOCP3 and I'm using the latest versions of TheSkyX (build 12304), ASCOM platform (6.4.1.2695) and AP ASCOM driver (5.20.09).
I'm often seeing issues where TSX requests a slew but

1600 GTO balance question
There was something a few days ago about balance on a 1600. I believe someone offered that if the mount is significantly out of balancethere can be some issues with the gears or some such thing.

Re: Recovery of a Lost Mount
There seems to be the belief that power cycling *the mount* will accomplish something here - it won't. Doing that is pointless. The mount's notion of where it is pointing in the sky after a power

I'm not sure if power cycling will do anything for you, but it won't affect the position of the mount as far as the servo is concerned. Best to speak with Howard here, he may have a better plan for

Hi Rolando,
I’ve always wondered about your RULE #1 and that PARK-3is assured to be a completely “stable safe position”.
Aren’t you assuming that the telescope is “counterweight

Plate solves can fail for a number of innocent reasons.
1. The odd cloud passing through.
2. Proximity to the Moon.
3. Local transient light trespass.
4. Low transparency.
5. Dew.

And what happens in the case of permanent locations when it is necessary to rebalance the mount due to a change in equipment?
Is there any way that the mount, a Mach 1 my case, remember what position

Hi David,
There is one other possibility. Pointing and tracking rate correction settings are not saved between runs when you just
double-clicking the "Pointing Corr" and "Rate Corr" status indicators
