Re: Mach1GTO - Crazy calibration with PHD2
I'm not very familiar with PHD, so I suggest going on their user group. Lots of knowledge there.

Thanks, Rolando.
This makes sense now. While speaking about PHD2 guiding, is there a short summary of PHD2 starting settings recommended for this mount ? My friend had suggested that I probably should

Re: Mach1GTO - Crazy calibration with PHD2
Orienting the camera with respect to RA/DEC is not absolutely necessary. It does make calibration somewhat easier to understand and eliminates one more variable when trying to solve a problem.

Re: Mach1GTO - Crazy calibration with PHD2
I'm following this post as a new user of Mach1 after upgrading from EQ6 mount. I also used to guide at 0.5 rate and didn't consider to align my guidescope with ra/Dec grid. I'd like to know some

Re: Mach1GTO - Crazy calibration with PHD2
Rolando,
Thank you. I will check the guiding camera for orientation. It is good to know that the mount works best at 1 x guide rate, it's not what I have been using but in this case I actually tried

Re: Mach1GTO - Crazy calibration with PHD2
1) You might want to place the camera at right angles to the RA/Dec direction.
2) You are apparently trying to guide at 0.5x guide rate. All our mounts work best at 1x guide rate. The slower rates are

Mach1GTO - Crazy calibration with PHD2
Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I am the new owner of a Mach1GTO puchased last Christmas. Love my mount but don't get to use it often because of the horrible weather here in Ohio. Last

Hi again,
Please ignore my initially posted thread. Uponre-reading, I found my answer at the AP webpage, in AP’s very well writtenand detailed document on using their “Telecompressors”

APCC/Horizons
Hello,
With APCC/Horizons I use my AP-1200GTO CP3 to track on comets and this works well, this was the main reason to buy APCC (standard version) about a year ago. But it also worked well on NEO

Specifying the Optical Reference Point on any Focal Reducer ?
Hi,
A question on Optics ...
Does anyone know, for certain, if there is any“optics industry standard” which defines the exact point on a focal reducer lensbarrel, to measure the length

Yves,
As I think I wrote earlier, the auto-config has nothing to do with this issue. The only reason that the driver would switch sign is the driver thought that there was a pierside change. To

Re: backlash, apcc, ap v2, gtocp4, new gear mesh mounts
Backlash in our latest spring loaded gearbox is vanishingly small. It is not an issue in RA for guiding in any case. As far as Go-To, the mount will move to within an arc sec or 2 of where you command

Re: Guiding Issues
Usually when the guide star moves out of the box it is because the pier flip box in Maxim has been checked. What this does is to reverse the calibration moves so that instead of the guide star slowly
