Tulip nebula in SHO with my Riccardi Honders
Hi all,
I'd like to share this image of SH2-101, the Tulip nebula, done with my Riccardi Honders astrograph back to home after an optical repair. The scope now free of astigmatism is really impressive

Re: AP900 Gto Auto-Guiding woes.
LOL! I know. It was actually on my G11 being used for visual. It was on the pier beside the Planewave/Paramount. I got a mouse infestation in the Planewave and they tore out the heater wiring harness.

Putting an AP155 back into action as an "impulsive" act.
What a concept!

Re: AP1200 GTO and backlash in its brass gear?
In this case backlash has no effect whatsoever on RA. The gears never reverse, so any reversing delay is not applicable.

Re: AP1200 GTO and backlash in its brass gear?
Wouldn’t you want to send both the DEC and the RA at the same time. Then they are both starting from a known baseline. Would suck to do only the Dec and then 6 months later have an issue with the RA

Christopher, I agree mostly with what you said. I think in my case, the

Re: AP900 Gto Auto-Guiding woes.
The only scope I have ever owned that didn't suffer from differentialflexure between a piggyback guide scope and the main scope is my AP130EDF-GT. That is why I ONLY use off-axis/radial guiders

I don't have any pics of an imaging setup on my 900 right now so Iwould have to set up and take some. These days I mostly image with myMach1+130EDF-GT+SBIG STF-8300M/FW5/OAG/STi and use my 900+C14

Timo,
It is hard to say how the previous owner used the mount. Yes, wear can occur at different rates. We have customers doing supernova searches which require hundreds of slews nightly.

If your mount is lost and you center on Vega then move mount and park-0.
The mount is still lost.
You must Recal after centering on Vega and before move mount and Park-0
