Re: COM Port Problems!
There’s a driver for window 8.1 for the single port keyspan.
There isn’t a driver for the 4 port keypan.

I run Keyspan on Windows 7. I have read that Keyspan drivers do not work with Windows 8.
I do not know if this is true or not. It is worth checking out.

Considering these things aren’t thatexpensive and it’s needed to image I would think it wise to have a spare cableand convertor just in case. It’s the weakest link in most cases.

Hi Ray,
I've been using this USB/serial driver without a problem about two years.
Is it more likely USB/serial cable problem or the serial cable itself?
Thank you very much.

The adapters I have had the best success with use FTDI chip sets. The COM port number assignments follow individual adapters, regardless of what USB port or hub they are plugged into.

Via your post on CN, it appears u might have a generic/possible counterfeit prolific adapter. The recommended adapters are tripplite keyspans or serial adapters based on the FTDI chipset.
