Make sure you put in a delay between each exposure so your guider has a chance to reaquire and settle down. The guider will not work when the camera is downloading...either with in camera chip or

Or you could get a high res monitor with built in USM port ;-) My monitor will recharge USB devices when the computer's off

Thanks for confirming that the netbook can work well with a full res external monitor.
As for using an external DVD as a backup media, with only 4.2 GB per platter, it would be better

As Roland suggested, consider a side by side/tandem mounting arrangement. The weight stays inboard, and I found balancing a TEC MC250 and AP 155EDF on my AP1200GTO not as difficult as I expected.

By the way - you can plug in an external regular high res LCD monitor and get a full display, rather than just the native 600 line vertically. The graphics controller seems to have that capability in
