cool concept.!!! and much easier to implement as a tweak as you go. If you can keep track of alt-az internally for the model you're probably good.

One of the things I always hated about Meade's AutoStar was that it was
so complicated that you never quite knew what it was doing. From what

It is my understanding that the AP mounts are rated for a photographic
load. That much weight at a long FL may be pushing the boundaries.

I don't think that a pointing model would be useful in the field.
However, for a permanently mounted scope, it might be worth doing the 20
- 50 points once.

Hello all, I see on the AP website that the AP900 can carry 12-14 inch
Ritchey-Chretiens. Is the AP900 still stable for photography with

Would you please comment on the issue of power supply/scope power up? Is it advisable to power up the scope only after the power supply has been powered up? I had not heard of this procedure

You can still use TPoint with your scope with a computer ... you do not need to have a pointing model in your hand-controller.
And if you are doing visual work only, it is unlikely that you would need
