All,
Here are the first test results for my new Mach1 GTO SN#18. First
the equipment and software:
AP155 EDFS at f/7
Mach1 GTO w/ flat plate adaptor + two 9lb CWTs (at very end of shaft)

Anticipating a meridian flip ...

Suppose I want to image something which still needs an hour prior to
crossing the meridian and I am interested in a continuous session
which will last three hours when the object is

i had aligned the polar scope (was not well aligned when i got it) -
so these results are after that - dont know if i'm doing something
wrong or ....

AP 600E and ST-4
Hi,
I am about to get an AP 600E GTO mount and I plan on using it with an SBIG ST-4 autoguider.

The other alternate is to initialize via the ASCOM driver. I use
ACP remotely (well, from the house to the back yard) and initalize

Well, since non-orthogonality is corrected by TPoint you can skip that. Likewise, repeatable errors need not be corrected mechanically since TPoint will model them out.

Dave: the whole point of using TPoint is that it fixes repeatable error.
It will guide you in getting polar aligned, and will compensate for non-orthogonality, etc.

and he believes my DEC issue is most likely a problem associated with my guiding
parameters and not the mount

I have had a similar problem. If I turn off DEC guiding altogether,
I get very smooth guiding. As soon as I resume guiding in DEC, it
does that same thing that James is experiencing.
