Steve,
Check the length of the screws that secure the dovetail saddle to the Dec top plate. The screws should not extend more than ¼” to 3/8” beyond the thickness of the dovetail saddle.

George

Re: Looking for one or two CP3's
The UofH VYSOS project also has a 3600. I wonder if the encoder box is compatible with the 3600. If it is, I might be interested in buying that as spares for their 3600 for when their budget is eventually unfrozen. Roland, is Eric's encoder box compatible with the 3600?

I have one I can send to you. It's gathering dust in a draw. I had updated to the CP4 last summer.

What new capabilities will CP4 owners enjoy with Version 5 compared to the current keypad version? Thanks, Ted

Hello
I have got a issue with my mach1 I have owned the mount for 3 weeks now and the mount seems to be grinding on something on the dec axis when there is just the dovetail clamp on it and when its loaded up it's very difficult to move I have made sure all the clutch knobs are loose i have stripped the top part down given it a good clean made sure the clutch brakes (not sure if thats the correct term) are clean and free reassembled but no diffrent. The ra runs smooth and free so I can get a good balance in that direction but no chance in dec. The mount is a 2014 model not sure if that matters Steve

Re: Looking for one or two CP3's
If I can't find a CP3 I guess I will end up cannibalizing the CP4 off of my Mach1 or 1100. I really don't want to do that because I'll probably end up off-line myself for months and months before they get any budget money again. "My advice is always free and worth every penny!" Always appreciated! Eventual plan is to have them get a brand-new CP4, if and when they get some budget to work with again. "My advice is always free and worth every penny!" Observatory Engineer Summit Kinetics Waikoloa, Hawaii

Send the broken one in and we'll see what's what with it. Maybe easily fixable.

Re: Meridian Flip Feature Yet?
Ray, The new keypad version 5 is not available for the GTOCP4 yet, but will be soon. The instructions for the flip are in keypad manual. This manual must be updated for use with the CP4 since there are some critical differences in other functions.

The flip is not based on meridian delay. The scope flips when you press the button. This feature is in the CP4/5 version P02-08 and is activated via the latest keypad software.

Thanks for the responses. I am using the AP V2 ASCOM driver. I can get the GTO CP3 firmware version later in the evening. I have a keypad but have never used it since the mount is exclusively used for imaging.

Re: Mach 1 not parking at Alt Az position
Hello Arun,
Are you using the AP V2 ASCOM driver, or APCC or something else? Do you know what firmware version is in your GTOCP3? Both APCC and the driver will tell you the version.

Re: Mach 1 not parking at Alt Az position
What is your setup? Are you using APCC and other programs, the keypad, or something else to send the command?

I have a Mach 1 that is running off of CP3. I've programmed the Alt Az position to be with the counterweight bar horizontal and scope pointed straight up for flats. Recently, it doesn't quite park in that position; it moves very close to that position and indicates it is still slewing with very minute movements shown until I abort the park. Wondering if this is indicative of some kind of issue or there is way of fixing it? I have tried changing the alt az position slightly, but it won't park there either. It has no issues parking to Park 3. Arun
