Re: Mach2 tracking below custom horizon

Luca Marinelli

I'll run the test Dale suggests but I ask a more fundamental question. A big reason why I use APCC instead of just the AP ASCOM driver is to provide a layer of safety in the operation of the mount to prevent pier crashes. If a third party application issues a command that is unreasonable (for example, start tracking when the OTA is below the Western horizon), shouldn't APCC not allow that command to take place? What's the point of horizon limits in APCC if any application can tell the mount not to abide by them?

Best,

Luca

I read through

but did not enable flag.
I was going to but I guess Chrome did that for me when I installed the High-Contrast extension.

Note it involves enabling a flag in Chrome and then downloading the High Contrast extension here:

I like the High Contrast look

Orange? color for un-read subject, links, e-mail addresses and easy to tell if un-read or read at the small default font size

Shift-F12 toggles between normal and High-Contrast

I like it and easy to switch back and forth.

Hello Jimmy,

Unfortunately I don't have any ideas beyond Dale's advice here. I've looked through Groups.io settings (like you did) but cannot find anything regarding display colors. It sounds like your font size method is the best one.

There's a way to get Chrome to display certain sites in High Contrast mode, although it's not straight-forward to enable. This might help you with colors, which I don't think are under a mailing list owner's control on Groups.io.

I just tried it on groups.io and it does seem to work, and might be a solution for you on this and other sites. Instructions are here:

To see if SGP has something similar as Voyager's watchdog, you can just start a quick session with SGP and click tracking off at any point in the A-P ASCOM driver or APCC window and observe if tracking magically gets enabled again. You pretty much have your answer at that point.

Hi Luca,

APCC indicates the limit was reached, and tracking had been stopped. However, if another application was connected, that application could have re-enabled tracking again.

HI Steve,

Last March, I like you obtained a new to me AP900 and was asking similar questions.  Frist step I did was to register my ownership of the mount using form on this link:
Support (astro-physics.com)

I then contacted AP using this link:  Astro-Physics Contact Us (astro-physics.com)

The Folks at AP are very helpful and are amazing at providing support even for out of production product.

Hope this is helpful and enjoy your mount.
