Sure I'll try that.  Also I used regedit and went in and attempted to delete anything that had Eltima in case it refused to install based on previous install.

I also notice that just before the APCC install happens there is a flicker of a pop-up window that is just a frame outline.  Nothing that can be read.  It reminds me of a pop-up blocker.
So I wondered if user account control was the issue. I went to inspect and see that I have it all the way down to "don't bother me".

Yes, I've done that. There is something wrong where it will not pop up the install option for the virtual com port driver.
The check box is checked (by default) and left alone each time. I do NOT uncheck it.

I dug out my old computer from the office and installed everything fresh on it and sure enough I can get that install
option just fine. Uninstalling, rebooting, disabling AV etc, makes zero difference. All systems use the same version of
windows with the same options. Default.

The only thing I can think of is that my main PC is a AMD Ryzen system not Intel. The other two systems are Intel

There is a step in the APCC installer which will install the virtual ports on your computer. If you
don't perform
that step then you will not get the licensed virtual port components on that computer.

So, try reinstalling APCC Pro and enable the checkbox in the installer to install the virtual ports
component.

So I have two computers that I am setting up. My main PC (desktop gaming system) and a little
Mini pc.
On the little
guy everything seems to work as it should.

ON the main PC system I have an issue where when I try to create a virtual port it has a pop up

I am trying to test out point mapping on my new Mach2 but haven't been able to yet because of

I uninstalled everything AP related and did a full re-install and nothing has changed. So while my
little
PC seems to
be working, I would like to be able to use my main PC while I am at home as it is more

easier to work with. (dual monitors and all that).

Anyone know what I am talking about and how to resolve this?

Some people have reported that, but I have not discovered a definitive reason why that happens. It could be the default browser that you have on your system. APCC creates a temporary HTML file and uses the default browser application to query and get the results.

There is a step in the APCC installer which will install the virtual ports on your computer. If you don't perform
that step then you will not get the licensed virtual port components on that computer.

So, try reinstalling APCC Pro and enable the checkbox in the installer to install the virtual ports component.

So I have two computers that I am setting up. My main PC (desktop gaming system) and a little Mini pc.
On the little
guy everything seems to work as it should.

ON the main PC system I have an issue where when I try to create a virtual port it has a pop up saying I
need to buy a
license for the virtual port software. $139 for the cheap one.

I am trying to test out point mapping on my new Mach2 but haven't been able to yet because of that
license
requirement.

I uninstalled everything AP related and did a full re-install and nothing has changed. So while my little
PC seems to
be working, I would like to be able to use my main PC while I am at home as it is more comfortable and
quick and
easier to work with. (dual monitors and all that).

Anyone know what I am talking about and how to resolve this?

I'm planning a similar move to a new PC. Can you remind me of the folders that need to be copied over, so that I can use an existing model etc.

Thanks,

Sean

Is there a page showing the history of the APCC Pro updates? My system shows version 1.8.4.1. If the CP4 update
has anything to do with that it isn't installed just yet.
Most of the notes for each version is here (some beta versions are not shown):

Over-mounting reasons are obvious.  I have typically run my Tak FSQ with 16803 camera, filter wheel, atlas focuser, guidescope on my AP 1200.  Not over-mounted by any means.  I can also carry my 155 edf and RHA 305 on the 1200 with no problem.  NO JELLO vibrations and damping time is zero.   A 1600 and Planewave 12.5 would be a great combination, and will support your 14 when you decide to upgrade.  In fact, the 1600 could probably carry the Planewave 17.5" as well and many do.  Over-mounting allows you flexibility like that.   But don't take my word for it.  Do a little research as to what the top imagers use.

Does the key/license I already have work or do I need a new one?

Roland, that may be the best Bubble image I’ve ever seen. How did you map the individual filters?

Hi Bill,
I think you are talking about the QHY294M-Pro. Some of us have received one, started testing it and wiping away the flaws of youth. Personally I use Sharpcap-pro and with the latest drivers. There are 2 modes, an 11M and a 47M an AD Sample Depth of 14bits in 11M and 12Bits in 47M. A test on NGC7635-M52 with my 130GT shows an advantage in oversampling the 47M mode.
The sky is not too much with us at the moment to make many and QHY still has some progress to make on the drivers in the 47M mode in the opinion of some.
