Mary, that is excellent news! Do you have any rough time table for when it will at least work correctly with the Mach2? Thank you for such a quick reply.

I managed to get SkySafari working on mine as a test case. I don't ever use the mount visually, but I love SkySafari6, so I gave it a shot. Works fine through APCC Pro.

Re: Sky Safari - iphone - GTO

The Sky Safari folks are presently working with our tech staff to work with the Mach2 and add more functionality for other mounts.

I just wanted to circle around on this topic. With the hand controller now shipping, is SkySafari 6 Pro currently working with MACH2 with CP5? I have seen posts noting it is, but I just want to verify before downloading.

Ernie, forgive me for asking the obvious, but is it safe to say that SkySafari 6 Pro is working correctly with the Mach2 with CP5? I saw some notes about a month ago that it wasn’t working properly. I just was hoping for clarification.

Hi Todd,

APCC can dynamically allocate virtual ports. It will choose different ports if the previous ports are in use.

It can also automatically reconfigure the ASCOM driver to use the ports APCC chooses, so if everything is working okay, there is nothing you need to do.

This will be my first post, and is unfortunately because I need some assistance. I thank you for all of the great posts,
as they are the reason that I haven’t needed to post. I apologize a head of time if this has been covered and I
happened to have missed it.

I have an AP 1600 with encoders and gtocp4, located in a permanent observatory. Just last night I noticed that my mg
box v2 was not connecting on appc pro start up. I scanned everything and notice that my com21 and com22 virtual
ports were missing in the bottom view of acc pro, and in their place was com3 and com4. I have no idea why 21 &22
were replaced with 3 & 4, and assume this created a conflict for the mg box. I looked in the device manager and still
see com21 and com22 under com ports, and they showed to be virtual ports. If I look in the virtual ports tab in acc pro
it shows com3 and 4 there. If I do the pull down port menu where you would create a virtual port, com21 and com22
are not options there. The port choices go from com20 to com23. 21 & 22 are not options to create a new com port, I
assume because they already exist in the device manager. I am not sure how to get back up on com21 com22 for my
virtual ports.

‘I don’t know how long it has been doing this, as I haven’t paid attention since everything still connected as normal. I
recently updated the ascom to the new SP1.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help!

So what was your guide-rate set at for this particular adventure?  And were you auto-guiding or manually guiding?  I’d say that with such an old longboard, manual guiding would be more in keeping.

Hello Roland,

This is a custom made dewshield I think. Made of Polyoxymethylene (POM) Delrin, Kocetal, Celcon etc...
I would like to make my own. We don't have frost here but lot of humidity, f.e. last night 98%.

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m well aware that more often than not, seemingly simple things rely on a world of complexity and effort (I’m an EE), hence my choice of words : “seems simple”.

Just thought I’d share an idea, as these are often foundation of progress.

Would definitely be nice to have that left-sided adapter though... or even better, a reversible one that could fit both sides! 🙃

Re: Possible to install the RAPAS + RAPM2 on the left side of the #Mach2GTO RA axis ? #Mach2GTO

Just so you know, there are a number of parts that are carved out of solid stock on a CNC machine. Each of the parts has tooling and fixtures made to hold the parts in place while operations are done on all the sides. making a mirror image of all these parts entails making another set of tooling and fixtures, so It's not a simple matter of just making a mirror image. And then there's the matter of the extra inventory that has to be carried, not knowing how many of each to stock, and the taxes that go along with the extra inventory.

It was not really about the hassle to return to a known park (or home) position, as like you pointed out, everywhere is home and known with AE. Apart from relieving my head from being squeezed between the SCT and the RAPAS, I also had in mind saving my poor little fingers from touching freezing cold metal as much as possible on a -25C (-13F) crisp and clear night...

I realize this is probably not a big issue to most users (having to rotate the scope before PA) but I thought it could nevertheless be a nice ergonomic feature to be able to choose the side you're most comfortable with and which best suits the scope and equipment you have.

Seems simple to implement too : add two new tapped holes + mirror the RAPM2 design... Easy as two copy/paste operation ! ;-)
