10 minute subs x 12

I like to expose until the central part of the galaxy is near saturation, but does not exceed it. That way the core is not blown out and no detail is lost there.

how long was each exposure?

This is an image taken with the Mach2 and 160EDF refractor, unguided over a period of 2 hours. I modeled a path that the object would take with 3 data points and let MaximDL take a set of images until the scope ran out of room and stopped at the limit. I'm shooting in very light polluted skies, the Moon was up and bright, so i was pleased that i was able to record some very faint stuff.

No guide scope was used, no field flattener, just the 160 refractor straight to the 8300 chip. Larger chips would need a flattener of course.

Simple question here -- on the CP3 box I assume the 12V power accepts a 2.1x5.5 center positive 12 volt cable - correct? I would like to just use a Powerpole cable I have here vs the cig plug one.

Superb Rolando, the Mach2 is really made to relieve us of the guide.
I tested the 2nd evening for my Mach2 after a 35 point modeling of the 600 "poses on M109 ... with round stars as I had rarely succeeded with guide.

De-Oxit can be purchased through Amazon or you can find it in local electronic supply stores.   I have been told that music stores that sell musical instruments stock it for bands.

Dean, tell me about DEoxit and where best to get it. I use an automotive terminal cleaner, not for battery cables that I’ve used in my dads auto shop years ago, may not be best for finer electronic boards. Tom

Yes, that was the problem.  Cleaned the blue board connector and pins with Deoxit and it boots right up.  Now to change the battery while I have the keypad open.

Hi George

Would you recommend using a dielectric grease on these connections to minimize / prevent corrosion ?

I have never seen any corrosion on my keypad or mount cables, but I have seen some corrosion on the USB cables that plug into my cameras.

Dean,

You may be experiencing some oxidation issues also.   Please see our Keypad Maintenance Instructions on the Tech Support page for safe opening and checking.   Plug the connectors in and out a few times and insure that they seat fully.

I have a backup keypad that I need to replace the old battery and upgrade to the most recent software version.  It hasn't been used for a couple of years.  When plugged it into the CP3 controller for the 900 I got a flashing version number followed by a question mark and then the keypad hangs.

Is this to be expected with a completely dead battery, or is this an indicator of a more serious problem with the keypad?

Re: AP now open - question about mount manufacturing order/priority

Shailesh,

Unfortunately, we don’t have any 1100s available for new orders. We started production just before our shutdown, so are just getting back into that groove. I would anticipate that we would have some available in the Fall. We are not accepting orders for the new run yet.

We will likely begin our Mach2 notification for the next run this month.  The parts for these mounts are nearly complete. We’ll should be able to start assembly on these as soon as we finish the first run.

I just saw that Marj posted a blog on Friday that communicated to us that AP is up & running with full staff today. This is great news.

This implies that mount production is restarting, please correct if wrong.

I am on the list for a Mach2 from April 2019, but would like to know when an AP1100 with AE may be available.

Any eta about order of assembly & 1100 vs Mach 2?

Shailesh
