Re: Mach2 update and discussion of features

Thomas Swann

In my private yahoo group, I was able to attach messages by simply pasting them into GMail, Hotmail, and Thunderbird.  I was not able to get it to work with the webmail clients (Horde and Roundcube) that I have available on the server that hosts my aperturefever.org domain, so it does seem like there is some dependency on the email client that is posting the message.

Using the "Attach" option did not work in my private group when I matched the settings of this group "Attachments are not permitted.".  When that option was enabled in my private group, it put a link in the message with a thumbnail.  The full images could then be viewed in the Yahoo Groups web interface by following the "More" menu items to attachment, but AP would have to change the group settings for that to work here.

Sending to this group through my server with Thunderbird worked (using two different methods), and it looks like Tim his message with the embedded images using Apple Mail.

With Thunderbird, for the first image of the 2012 Venus transit I simply copied the image into the clipboard and pasted it into the message, and for the second image of the 2017 solar eclipse, I used "insert->html" and manually crafted an HTML remote link to an image on one of my servers.

Unplug the encoder, turn on power, run the Polemaster. When you're done, remove the Polemaster and plug the encoder back in.

To run the Polemaster sequence you have to move the mount. I suppose one could do it manually but that would be making life harder than it would need to be. I personally dont use Polemaster anymore due to RAPAS being more accurate.

Thomas,

I’m not sure what you’re trying to do, but under the “Mach2 update and discussion of features” subject, you’ve posted two images. The first appears to be a planetary transit of the Sun, and the second is a solar eclipse image.

If you’re trying to figure out how to post images to this group, you’ve got it! But it might be helpful to post under a more suitable subject line – such as “Testing how to post solar images here.”

Nice images by the way – particularly the corona one.

I was amazed when I saw the post too, so I created my own yahoo group to
do some testing. With my test group all it takes is attaching a photo
to the post in my email client. I had mixed results with some appearing
inline like we saw in this thread and other times appearing as a
thumbnail that can be clicked on to view the image. Either way was
easier to see the photo than uploading them to the file section where
they need to be downloaded and saved to view.

Nice Polemaster adapter, I mount mine on a Baader counterweight and a

for the Pole Master on a Mach1.

Here is the design if it works and you want to get it 3D printed:

Re: Mach2 update and discussion of features

Not to mention the same for the Tak mounts, at least my EM-200 and AP1200. Surprised to learn that after buying the Tak adapter…….

This same adapter also works with the AP1100 as well. When I was using Polemaster (no longer, I use a well-calibrated RAPAS now) the adapter worked perfectly.

Tim,

The Mach2 is threaded for the QHY AP900 adapter, so it will be plug and play. I updated the website with a CAD drawing to show how slick this will be... Also updated the features list.

I don’t know what the Mach2 looks like but I designed and made this for the Pole Master on a Mach1.

Ray, it is not clear on the Radmin site. Is that a $49 - one time - purchase,
or is it yearly or monthly?
That's a perpetual one-time fee for a server on one computer. The client application is free.

Looks good!

I have been using Remote Utilities for a while now - direct local LAN with a free license. But after the TV fiasco,
I'm, leery of "FREE".

Correct, the serial cable for the encoder blocks it.

It won’t fit if you have encoders.
