Chris,

I then opened APCC from my "E" drive,
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by opening it from another drive. If you have installed APCC and you cannot find the icon on your desktop, you can always run APCC from the Start menu. The icon might be hidden behind another icon for some reason.

Subject: [ap-gto] APCC gives an error message

Hi All,

On March 28, 2017 I downloaded APCC with the activation code to run it. I saved
it to my "C" drive and also a backup copy to my "E" drive. I opened APCC the
night I downloaded it to set it up. It ran through it's procedure and opened to my
desktop with no problems. When I closed out of it I was surprised to find it did not
place an icon on my desktop. Since then I have been busy with a few other
projects and haven't tried to open it again until this morning. Today I tried to open
APCC from my "C" drive and got an error message saying, "Windows can not
Access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate
permissions to access the item." I then opened APCC from my "E" drive, went
through the setup procedure again, set up the various sites I observe from, and
then closed out. Again, there was no icon on the desktop. Now when I try to open
APCC from e ither drive I get the same error message as above. I also can not
open APCC from either drive by right clicking and trying "Run as Administrator".
Obliviously (:-) I've done something wrong!, but have no clue what it would be.
How do I get APCC to run and place an easy access icon on my desktop?

Thank you for your help!

Re: APPM and TheSkyX

Ray Gralak

Hi Steve,

I am using APCC along with TSX and T Point generated model. What is the best
way to sync the APCC mount position to TSX mount position?
I think you should just use TheSkyX's Sync feature. I think there are a couple different ways to use it, like centering a star in the scope and right clicking on the star and selecting Sync in TheSkyX. Of course you should be connected via the ASCOM driver or have TheSkyX directly connected to an APCC virtual port.

I got a PoleMaster for testing and I can barely get it to work here at 19+ degrees on the Big Island of Hawaii.

FWIW, I can get it to work better if I first do a polar alignment in my Mach1's RAPAS or my 1100's PASILL4.  Which certainly limits it value to me.

And then there is it's apparent lack of compensation for atmospheric refraction and why if I need to do a really serious polar alignment I still use PEMPro.

I hope it works for you. I completed an alignment last night and verified it with a T Point model using 84 points. My error is 0 Arc Sec. both ways. This is the second time in a row that I achieved these results. I do need to mention that my latitude is 43 Deg.

Good luck
