Hi Kent,

I did check my time settngs under the setup menu on the hand controller. The time is correct. The other thing that is happening is that my slews to the first target after resetting the Park 1 position is WAY off. That has never happened before. The time reading in the hand controller is correct. Is there also a setting to tell it that it is in daylight savings time mode as well? Thanks, Randy

Oh, yes! RA polar scope for the Mach 1 would be fantastic. I've been holding back on getting the current straight through one hearing tales from people needing to fiddle with it to get it working nicely.

It is looks very similar to what I had with my Takahashi mount. There is a little utility that you run that tells you where to place Polaris.

Re: New Mach 1
John A. Sillasen
Thanks everyone. I was given instructions today by George on how to daytime align the mount using the Park 1 and level the counter weight shaft then Park 2 and level the scope.
So simple it was worth a DOH! Afterwards, Howie gave me a personal demo of how to use the ASCOM AP program. Already feel lucky. I have encouraged the right angle polar scope build for the Mach 1 and feel good that it will come to fruition. Stay tuned. John Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4GLTE smartphone

Do you connect the computer to sync the mount and the keypad to park?
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
In that case the difference in times between the computer could cause this. The only time I have seen something like this happen in my case is when I forgot to turn off meridian delay before parking. Parijat

This looks like the finder in the iOptron. I am guessing something in the keypad or APCC software tells you where you line up Polaris on the "clock time" of the reticle circle and also which part of the line for that "time."

I would expect it to be an update similar to the 1200-to-1600 update... Increased weight capacity (maybe 80-90 lbs.), maybe slightly heavier/larger overall, repositioned and self-tensioning RA and DEC motors, through-the-mount cabling, etc. This will help draw a more solid line between the Mach1 and the current 900.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
An expensive encoder option may be a hard sell on a 900-ish size mount but, if it's an option, I'm sure there are people out there who can put it to good use. Or, maybe the Mach1GTO gets a bit beefier and the 900 goes away entirely (I hope not, but ya never know). -dp

Perhaps it will evolve into an AP1000 with a bit more capacity and optional
encoders like the 1600 has turned into. The gap between the 900 and 1600 is pretty big now. have all of that here. I also have an 80, 100 and 120mm APO's sitting around that you could use. But sorry, my name hasn't yet come up on the waiting lists so no AP refractors for you to play with.
