False Alarm (Re: [ap-ug] Deneb with Soap Bubble)

False alarm Disappointed

I just processed another 6 subs with Deneb moved to a somewhat different location on the chip. The bubble is not in the same location in the image, and it looks like it's a reflection from the bright star Deneb between the filter and the camera cover glass.

That'll teach me to not jump to conclusions.

I have looked in several catalogs in Vizier and cannot find any reference to this bubble. Morphologically, it certainly looks like a PN. I have both my telescopes pointed at it and collecting some data. If it’s real, I should be able to replicate it.

If it turns out to be a reflection, you can take comfort in the fact that it's still YOUR soap bubble.
