OK so my happiness lasted for a week and now the issue is back. Or at least I assume (hope?) that this is related to the problem.
The mount refused to connect today through the SGP and when I disconnected and connected the Ra cable the Ra motor started to make a grinding sound trying to rotate the axes without luck. I then tried the Dec cable and both ends of the new Y cable to Ra motor with the same grinding result. As it was getting dark I didn’t open the gearbox cover anymore tonight.
