Just acquired a second hand. AP1200 gto I’ve carefully polar aligned mount with polar scope , I’ve put in the relevant lat and longitude ( 51.40.05 degrees north , -3 .14,37 W. Uk South Wales.
Entered my local time , GMT , daylight saving 01,
Zone 00
Then aligned scope on Alcor then Goto vega all good then Jupiter , Saturn ,good but then tried some Messier objects M57 and it said it was below horizon ! ( it was obviously in Lyra which was 40+ degrees high 🤔) as with a couple of other objects that were above horizon anyhelp gladly taken sti"
 
The answer is that his keypad battery is dead and the database is now corrupted. Needs to replace the battery and upload the database. Stars are not affected, just deep sky objects.
