Bill, your comments are very encouraging, but the caveat about SCTs has me wondering! (Well, I was wondering before. ;-)
I have a C-8 and a C-11, neither of which I've used for imaging yet, so I don't know how they'll behave. The C-11 has mirror locks, but I prefer to leave them loose so that the automated focuser can function.
I suppose whenever a "mirror-flop" happens there will hopefully be just one lost image, but the mount will continue on faithfully.
