The Icron Ranger USB 2.0 Extender works very well controlling my mount, camera, rotator, focuser and dew controller. However, you will need a 12V to 5V converter to run off a 12V source. The *wall wart* supplied with the Icron Ranger USB 2.0 supplies 5V from 120/240V AC source. The older Icron Ranger USB 1.0 runs directly off a 12V source.

I have both the older USB 1.0 and the newer USB 2.0 models and they both work flawlessly to control my setup up to 300 meters away.
