Re: latitude settings

Colt,

It's very easy to set an inclinometer on the polar axis to get a rough cut
at setting your latitude. I do this to get started. The remainder is done
with the polar scope. I never expected AP to set the mount to my latitude.

Subject: [ap-gto] latitude settings

I've had just a few brief opportunities to take
my new 1200 out since I got it last December.
What rotten weather!
I noticed last night that my latitude setting was off quite a bit.
I see in the manual that there's instructions for setting it, but
I was wondering if most ship from the factory set close to the
proper latitude for the location of the buyer?
I could see Polaris through the bore hole, but it was just barley
visible at the bottom.
Just curious
